Grain Chain
Since 2007,
http://www.grainchain.com
has provided easy-to-use teaching resources on healthy eating, farming, nutrition, sustainable development, baking and retailing of flour and baking products for students aged 5 to sixteen. You will find ready-made lesson plans, assessment quizzes with printable results, adaptable worksheets to support differentiation and enlarged videos which are ideal for displaying on interactive whiteboard. There are also interactive games, a recipe database, podcasts and clear information about the journey of grain from field to fork, tailored to students throughout primary and secondary school. Furthermore, there's a blog featuring current news, events and teaching ideas. The Grain Chain is also on social media sites, Twitter and Facebook. The Grain Chain education programme is a collaboration of the HGCA, Federation of Bakers (FoB) and Flour Advisory Bureau (FAB). It is the successor to the Flour and Grain Education Programme which was launched in 2002.
