My degree is in Particle Physics and Cosmology, and I have a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics, for which I worked with the ALICE experiment (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Switzerland. I was working as a research scientist at the University of Liverpool on an experiment at the GSI facility in Germany when I decided at the start of 2012 that I want to become a teacher. I will be studying for a PGCE at Manchester University starting September this year, and have been awarded an Institute of Physics Teaching Scholarship.
