The mission of the Energy Department is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions. Through its Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, DOE offers lesson plans, science projects, and other activities that can be done in the classroom or at home to get students of all ages excited about clean energy. DOE also offers the National Training and Education Resource (NTER), an open source platform that serves learners by allowing them to acquire new skills – at a time, place and pace that is convenient to them.
