World Book Day
World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, of illustrators, of books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind. This is the 15th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 1st March children of all ages (as well as libraries, schools, charities, bookshops, newspapers, people on TV and radio) will come together to appreciate reading. Very loudly and very happily. World Book Day is the biggest celebration of books and reading in the world. Every child in full-time education in the UK and Ireland is entitled to receive a £1* World Book Day book token which they can exchange for one of eight specially produced £1* World Book Day books OR get £1* off a book or audio book priced £2.99** or more.
