NEW 2024 - One hour lesson introducing the concept of budgeting with all the templates needed for students to create a working budget plan. Students will first discover what budgeting, sources of income and outgoings are, before investigating why it’s important to budget and studying a sample budgeting plan from an average teenager. Finally they will create their own. Includes lesson plan. This has been created to best suit KS3, but could easily be used with KS4 and is entirely editable. It covers the DfE and PSHE Association guidance for 2020-24 and will last you one hour. There is a wide range of interesting tasks to achieve understanding. Reading is kept to a minimum but important mathematical vocabulary is included. A complete Maths lesson for introducing money and coins. The lesson covers the different coins and their value using pennies. There is an activity for swapping coins for a single coin to demonstrate that different coins can be used to make up different amounts and shows children that we need to add the amounts together and not simply count the coins. The lesson includes three differentiated money worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children. Over 20 worksheets of simple activities involving money that are illustrated and designed for use mainly with adults and teenagers. Choose the right coins to pay for items. Find the total value of 2, 3 or 4 coins or notes. The answers are small numbers in pence or whole numbers of pounds. Find coins totalling 5p or 10p. Add up the total cost of 2 or 3 items in whole numbers of pounds. Find the change from using £5 or £10 notes to buy items. Is there enough money to pay for these things ? Many of the sheets have a colour version to add to the visual appeal. Print onto card then laminate so the pages can be reused with a wipe off marker pen. Please review this resource.
