WJEC Eduqas English Literature Component 2 Revision Session

This resource is designed for my Year 11 mixed ability group for the final couple of lessons before a mock English Literature Component 2 exam. The texts studied are An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol and Unseen Poetry, but sections A and B can be easily adapted for alternative texts. It is a reminder of key points of the exam, and assumes full teaching of the course before the session. The mark schemes are referenced, but again assumes that students are familiar with the language used on them before beginning the activities. I hope it's useful and saves people time in a busy exam season!

This is a 1 x PowerPoint resource designed to elicit independent revision (it's not a standalone lesson, more suited to a homework or revision activity) for students who have already studied the 18 poems in the WJEC poetry anthology. Students are to select their quotes from each poem to revise from. Easy print PowerPoint to encourage group work.

Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening Target Spreadsheet

(0)
I have created this resource for English teachers who are required to set specific targets for students on a regular basis. I found that I was spending a lot of time typing the comments from books into SIMS, and then onto a target sheet for my teaching file. This resource is aimed at reducing the time spent on typing out targets, and instead has a list of 20+ targets for KS3 and KS4 Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. These are easily selectable from a drop-down menu. All you have to do is enter the student names in the first column, and select that student's targets. They are not specific to any exam board, but are my most frequently given targets. They can be edited on the red tabs (KS3 Comments and KS4 Comments), and you will need to scroll right on the Excel spreadsheet to see these. I hope that this resource saves people as much time as it will do for me.

This resource was created to help engage reluctant writers and to build "showing not telling" writing skills over a short period of time - it is about 4 lessons' worth. Aimed originally at a Year 10 Creative Writing group, but could be used successfully with KS3 writers too.

Comparison of Power Essay Strcture

This is a resource designed after full teaching of Ozymandias and London: it is simply an essay structure to help students who may be structuring essays for the first time. There are no model paragraphs or references to a markscheme, so it's easily adaptable to any exam board. I hope it's helpful!
