Translation worksheets

(53)
There are three worksheets here. The first sheet asks the children to identify how the shape has been translated. The second requires them to translate easier shapes, whereas the third is more challenging. In addition, the third includes a SAT style question which requires the children to use all the knowledge they have learnt from the first two worksheets. I hope this helps! If you find these worksheets have saved you some valuable time, please leave a rating or a comment.

This is a set of three writing activity cards/writing challenges that are based around different aspects of VCOP and SPAG. I designed these cards to help with independent applications of key skills in literacy for year 6. I would recommend printing, laminating and then cutting the pages in half. These took me a very long time to create so I would appreciate feedback. Hope this helps - enjoy!

Here is a Powerpoint and corresponding worksheets for roughly one weeks worth of work. It includes starters and some plenaries, but doesn't include the answers for all as I like to walk them through it the old fashioned way! The first few days focus on the key skills to be done in their books. The worksheets are a fun way of applying the key skills they have learnt at the end of the week. Hope this helps!

I can't take credit for the main PowerPoint presentation. All I have done is make adjustments to suit my class and included a range of SAT style starters. The worksheets will cover a few days work and are suitable for different abilities. Some of them also include an extension that ran alongside our work on space and shape, so check these to make sure they are suitable for your class. Hope this helps!

Journalist writing - Newspaper model

(0)
This is a newspaper model I created about a flood. It includes all the vital features of a newspaper report: alliterative headlines; pictures and captions; a brief orientation; reported and direct speech and a clear ending. It also features more sophisticated connectives and high quality openers to cater for your level 4/5 writers. This resource can be used as a vital tool for a S&L session, unpicking the features of a report and as a model for their own writing. Changing the flood for a severe snowstorm worked particularly well. All the proceeds of my resources will be donated to charity via the TES website!
