These materials have been created and trialled for whole classes or larger student groups at Key Stage 3 and above. They aim to help students consider the advantages and disadvantages of different types of biofuels that are being produced or may be produced in future as renewable sources of energy for transport. They include case studies and a role-play exercise to aid exploration of the impacts of biofuels production in countries such as Brazil, Malaysia and the USA.

The Nuffield Foundation Curriculum Programme and the Nuffield Council on Bioethics have worked together to produce a range of resources on animal research, to fit into science and citizenship lessons. The objective is to help students make informed decisions about the use of animals in research. There are 10 activities to choose from, made up of individual starters, activities, plenaries and an assessment exercise which can be dropped into your lessons or used as a whole according to your programmes of study.

This set gives an introduction to clinical (health) research, ethics in health research and how research is reviewed/approved. It also provides prompts for discussion about particular issues that arise in research involving children/young people. It is suitable from about Key Stage 3 and above, and may be particularly relevant to A-level Psychology and other subjects with a focus on research methods and/or ethics.
