Binary Bot

(21)
A quick introduction to the Binary number system (which has made it into the new draft maths curriculum). Binary-Bot explains how Binary is a base 2 number system and gives some examples of how numbers are represented using 0s and 1s. I'm not an expert in Binary so if you notice any mistakes please let me know so I can edit the resource. Comments much appreciated : )

Perfect 10 Party

A PowerPoint for number bonds to 10. The numbers are invited to a party but can't enter without their perfect partner. There are numbers to print so the children can find their own partners. I&'ve also included some suggestions for number sentences and some notes on certain slides giving some more info. Hope someone finds this useful!

Henry VIII Tudor Time Machine

This presentation shows Henry VIII being brought forward in time to answer questions about his life. It might be useful as an introduction or as a form of revision (getting pupils to say what the answers might be before clicking the links). I've tried to be as accurate as I can with the information in the powerpoint but if there are any mistakes let me know and I will make the necessary alterations. : ) Please comment if you found this useful.

These are some pictures I drew for a visual timetable. I then printed them onto card, coloured them in (you could get the children to do this), and laminated them. [Edit: I have now added a colour version and added some extra subjects] Feel free to change the sizes or the wording to suit you. If you stick some hook and loop material on the back and put a longer strip on the board you can move them about easily. Otherwise blu-tack works just as well!

Terrific 20 Party

A PowerPoint for number bonds to 20 following the same format as my earlier 'Perfect 10' PowerPoint. The numbers are invited to a party but can't enter without their perfect partner. Once again there are numbers to print so the children can find their own partners. Look out for the numbers standing in the queue - some haven't noticed their partners are already there! Please comment if you found it useful.

These are some pictures I drew to make a display about pronouns (that's why there are 3 - one for each person). I gave them large instruments so that things could be written in this space. I don't know why they have carrots on their hats - prehaps if you colour them in non-natural colours they will not resemble carrots so much! Unless of course you want to use them in a display about healthy eating...
