I have been trying to find something like this but couldnt so instead I have made this welcome letter to send to my year 1 children at the start of the new school year to explain how year 1 will be different from reception and to ease the transition. Please comment on whether you find it useful.

I have just made this to display on the wall in the writing area of my year 1 classroom. Please rate, as if it is useful to others i will make and put more up for the different areas of continuous provision. Other topics covered: Assessment; Level descriptors/statements.

This is a simple recording sheet that i have made and used with my year 1's when measuring an object's weight using different units e,g, cubes, pencils, rubbers, crayons, paper clips, and so on. Hope it is useful.

Here are some of the labels and posters i made to use in my post office role play. The job posters were useful as they reminded the children of what their role was and what their job involved in the post office.

This is a simple letter which i sent home with my year 1 children before i began the science topic of variation and plants/animals. Some parents commented on how useful it was.
