Fonts, brushes and layers in Photoshop

I created these worksheets to explain how to use layers, download and install new brushes and fonts into Photoshop. They are at basic/intermediate level. They were manageable for the year 12 students I taught, and took me a long time to make so would be good if someone else got some use from them. I also have a powerpoint on typography I can upload.

Colour wheel lesson and plenary 'Justin Beibhair'

To learn about and check learning on the colour wheel, primary, secondary and tertiary colours. I have included the lesson powerpoint as it has the colour wheel I used to colour Justin Beiber's hair. Justin Beibhair is intended for a plenary task to assess learning; teacher presents the quiz and flicks through slides, stopping on one, pupils write down whether they think its primary, secondary or tertiary, either individually or in pairs/groups. I haven&'t had the chance to use this yet despite making it so let me know what you think.

Scale and proportion Cheryl Cole portraiture game

For use with Smartboard software and IWB's, pupils come to the board and drag/resize Cheryl Cole&'s features where they think they should be. Depending on behaviour, other pupils can shout out &';higher, lower, smaller, bigger' etc. When finished reveal the original photograph and pupils can self-assess where they went wrong, and discuss what should be different. I have added the whole lesson presentation with the game on 2 of the slides, it was one of my first lessons so apologies for the clunky format.

Peer Assessment Menu

I made this menu for my year 7's so its quite garish! Thought it might help lighten the marking load if pupils were writing meaningful assessment comments on their own and their peers work, they quite like it. Hopefully is self explanatory!

This ppt contains a stencilling worksheet, health and safety poster and apple image to be used when teaching tonal stenciling skills. It is designed to be given to pupils after a demonstration by the teacher on how to recognise, cut and layer tonal areas of shadows, mid tones and highlights. After this we looked at the work of Shepard Fairey and produced tonal stencils communicating issues (I will add if I can find the images!).

This word doc is designed as a reminder for pupils as you guide them through the more complicated steps of this on Photoshop on an IWB. They will need some prior knowledge of Photoshop, or a patient teacher!
