Here is my lesson for remuneration along with worksheets for Edexcel unit 3.4.
Where slides in the powerpoint throw up a question box you must click that you trust it for the timer to work.
Hope this is useful :)
Effect of Organisational Structures on Motivation
This is my full set of resources for a lesson I made for Edexcel Unit 3.4 People in Business. Students have already covered organisational structures, communication and motivation but this is a final lesson tying them together. It has a fair bit of content around tall and flat structures in it.
In the powerpoint you must click yes on each slide that asks you if you trust the content or the timers will not work.
Enjoy :)
I have these printed out, cut up individually and laminated. If a student finishes a task before we are ready to move I can then give them a card to complete as an extension task. There is one card for every topic of unit 1 and unit 3.
For the unit 1 cards I have put multiple choice questions from past exams on the reverse sides and for unit 3 I have put exam tips for different mark questions (not 10 markers as couldn't fit them on).
You might want to make local changes.
Hope you like them, they took me ages!
Business ethics PowerPoint with activities for year 11 students following Edexcel. Uses the Marcouse text book. Many of the pictures contain hyperlinks to videos. Planned for approx 100 minute lesson. Make sure when you put on full screen that you select that you trust the content or the timers won't work. Hope this helps :)
Edit: A couple of the videos are no longer available on Youtube. I have uploaded the Donald Draper video as a file here and here is a link to a good garment industry video.

This is my lesson on environmental issues for edexcel unit 3.5. You have to save the file and click that you recognise the content for the timers to work.
Hope this is useful.
The answer doctor sheets can be used as a template, the answers in these ones relate to communication but I will use these as an extension to this lesson as students are getting feedback on that end of unit test as part of this lesson.

A topic tracker for unit 3 exams for Edexcel Business going back to June 2010 and including June 2014.
Questions are written in spreadsheet with hyperlinks to mark scheme for quick access.
Looking at Tannenbaum and Schmit and Blake Mouton. Uses TV and movie clips to show different types of leader. Has fairly mild clip from Full Metal Jacket on slide 7 that you might want to check before using. Pictures are hyperlinked.
This was done over a single and a double which is why there is a starter activity in the middle of the slideshow, for this you will need to print out and cut up the Tannenbaum Schmidt continuum.
A checklist that breaks down the two year course into year 1 and year 2 topics. I screenshot these and add to all of my lessons so that students know exactly what topic we are on.
A whole lesson looking at poverty, comparing the use of GDP/GNI to measure living standards to the Human Development Index. A few high quality videos, class discussions and then a student activity where they compare living standards in two countries.

Last lesson we looked at government spending, this lesson (or two) is a look at the types of UK taxation followed by an activity where students have to film an argument for or against a cut in tax credits.
There's around 2 hours of work included here.
A lesson on public expenditure which students will need internet access to complete. There are some links needed for this but I have included them in the notes section of the last slide. Hope this is of use.
2 lessons that focus on absolute and relative poverty and builds on the HDI and LEDCs.
Very nice interactive activity towards the end that is easily differentiated by giving your most able students the roles of the reporter and the news reader.
Last two slides include worksheets for 8 mark iGCSE Econs question on living standards.
Here is my intro lesson covering the first topic of unit 3 for Cambridge iGSCE. Also a good intro for other exam boards. Introduces the role of the marketing department alongside a selection of key terms and also an intro to calculating market share.
Crossword generator for if you would like to edit: https://worksheets.theteacherscorner.net/make-your-own/crossword/
This is a sheet of current (2017) UK macroeconomic data that students can use to help them to apply their exam answers to the UK economic context. This should be useful for past exam and specimen paper questions that ask the students to refer to the UK economic context in their answers but do not have a case study.
Lesson 2 of unit 3 for the Cambridge iGCSE course. Looks at the reasons that the levels of sales change within markets. Uses Blockbuster, Netflix, Amazon and Zara for illustrative purposes. As I make these using Google slides the videos will not work in PPT when you download. In the notes sections you will find the hyperlinks to the videos included.
I've left in a screen grab of a past Edexcel Kodak case study in there which I decided not to use but you may wish to do so.
I gave the students the case studies for Robert's Media and Klick Plc (BUSS3 past exams) and asked them to:
a) calculate as many ratios as possible
b) decide how these ratios could be used to answer any of the four questions in each paper.
Not all ratios are covered here but I will update as they are.
Scott Electronics is no longer available on the AQA website, if you don't have it you can message me on here and I will email it to you.
Hope they are useful to you.
Lesson slides and activities for this topic.
Activities are adapted from hannahlawrance21's excellent activities for this topic.
For the timer to work you must click &'allow content&'; if you don't click this you will need to re-download the file.
For the first activity I&'d print all types on one colour paper, all the explanations on one colour paper and the same for advs and disadvs etc as might be a bit hard otherwise.
*updated 17/10/13 - formula error in other version.
You should only need to edit the blue cells so I have locked the other cells as they have rather long winded formulas which if changed will stop the spreadsheet from working. However if there are any bugs or you want to change anything then the password is 'summer&'.
div/error in mean variance will disappear when student names are entered.
You might want to check the grade boundaries which I have set for the units here, but they must be entered as a % rather than a raw mark.
Hope this is useful.
This is a one hour lesson for GCSE Edexcel Unit 1 for Spotting a Business Opportunity: Understanding the Need to Add Value.
There is a timer on slide 9, for it to work when you play the presentation you need to select that the slides are from a trusted source otherwise the time won't show up.
Hope this is useful.
