Helps children to understand how a word can be developed from a noun to a noun phrase to a expanded noun phrase in a visual way. I used this with The Explorer by Katherine Rundell to get them to choose a object they could see in their camp and expand it. They then used personification to give in human like features. I intend to develop this further in the next session to using these ideas as a plan and building them into a paragraph.

Using the resources from the White Rose Site, I have prepared a teaching PPT and centered all of the Flashbacks, teaching slides, views of worksheets and answers. I have included question prompts. This 96 page document can be used as is but can also be edited with challenges suitable for your class and students. **This is Spring 1 unit 1 Year 3 Multiplication and Division. ** I have split it into 5 sessions but some may require input if needed to aid methods at a slower pace that White Rose suggests.

I used this to get the children interested in the owl. This was used in prep for the nocturnal animal report in the PM to ensure they had sufficient subject knowledge. It was used in conjunction with habitats in science.
