Two sets of flashcards to get the children used to reading real and nonsense words for the screening in June. These are new words, different to the government issued ones. Each child will be required to read 40 words. It is intended you use either set A or set B as they contain a balance of real / made up words with A1 being easier than A2. Hope that makes sense. Set B is just a repeat of the activity.

A set of pictures to sequence, illustrating the journey of a plastic bottle from rubbish to a fleecy jacket. One sheet has the pictures to sort. The other sheet has the pictures with a caption, all muddled for the children to sequence. The pictures in this case or in the correct sequence.

Simple pictures to cut out and match to a word with a_e, i_e, o_e, u_e. Would suit as an independent activity.

Practise using a ruler to draw straight lines, also simple addition of 3 numbers for extension measuring sheet: Edited March 2014 to add worksheet in Publisher format to enable editing. Four simple activities to consolidate halves and doubles. The domino activity loops round so is self correcting. NB: edited to correct typo on Ladybird sheet!

I tried to find some of these to print out on the internet but turns out they only have them to 20. So I decided to make my own and thought I'd share! Hope they're of use to someone and saves some time!

Three alphabetical order sheets on the theme of minbeasts. I uploaded them before but couldn't open the file as a publisher doc so am uploading them as a pdf.

Some photocards with real photos on for children to compare which hold more / least. Vocabulary flash cards with: full, empty half full etc. Some A4 'mats&' to print and laminate so children can fill cups with a liquid then place on the corresponding mat.

An activity for children to create repeating patterns using 3-d shapes. Some changes of the orientation of the shape is included to increase the challenge.

A simple worksheet for children to cut out pictures for each of the seasons and sort. It may save people some time.

A simple cut and stick activity, matching animal babies to their parent.

A set of leaves to measure in cm and then some followup question as a challenge / fast finishers.

An activity for children to compare angles to a right angle and say if the angle is greater, less than or equal to 90 degrees. As an extension children can look at angles in 2-d shapes. Apologies but you will need to draw the angle curve on each pair of lines...I don't know how to do it on a computer!

A set of 30 A5 picture cards for sorting and discussion around. Male and female species of same animal.

A set of flash cards with pictures to sort. Use to start topic or discuss misconceptions about sources of light such as moon and mirrors.

A days of the week activity for early Y1, based on the Hungry Caterpillar, and some display cards to support the activity.

Name labels of the main 3-d shapes, with photos to show them in real contexts.
