Reading Scheme RWI phonics link document

(1)
This document links reading scheme books to Read Write Inc phonic sounds. ‘Missing’ sounds included. Progression of red words and ‘additional’ red/tricky words also included. It links books from the following schemes to the order of Read Write Inc sounds. RWI Book Bag Books Oxford Reading Tree Floppy’s Phonics inc. Non-Fiction Read with Oxford Songbird’s Phonics Bug Club Phonics Oxford Reading Tree inFact Non-Fiction It also identifies any ‘missing’ sounds and a sensible place to teach them in order for children to access all the books in the section. The document also shows which red words need to be taught alongside each sound to access each of the books in that section. We have added some red words so that children can access the ORT books as well. Some books still have challenging/non-decodable words in, but we have highlighted these in the fronts of the books to ensure adults who are reading with the children are aware. It really was a labour of love and I hope it’s helpful!

Rainbow Tray or Peg Labels

Rainbow labels for Gratnells trays. I use these for the children’s trays and print 2 or 4 to a page for peg labels. Just click ‘edit text’ in the word art options to input text. You might need to then ‘text fill’ with the image included. I use the font “KG The Last Time” which I think looks great, you can download it here for free: https://www.dafont.com/kg-the-last-time.font or change to any font you want! They should print straight onto these Avery labels: https://www.avery.co.uk/product/removable-labels-e3214 or just print, cut and stick on with sticky-back plastic.

Common Exception Word Mats for Year 1, 2, 3, and 4

Common exception words in alphabetical order. Dyslexic friendly and large font - size 20 as I used it originally with a child with sight difficulties. You will need to download open dyslexic font if you want to edit the mats in word or change the font to one of your liking. Otherwise there is a non-editable PDF. Due to the size of the font it covers four pages. I make them into a little book with treasury tags but you could reduce this when photocopying if you want it on one page (back to back).
