Word Mats Literacy in Mathematics KS3/4 Resources

(46)
Double sided vocabulary sheets organised per topic. Key words are listed on the front with definitions (or key examination phrases) on the back. I leave these out every lesson and the students can use the front page for key vocabulary spellings or as prompts (e.g. angle fact rules). If they need to find a definition, then they turn over and read the back. Also good to use key words for starter activities or for revision for Year 9 or GCSE students. There are 7 sheets; Geometry (angles), Geometry (shapes), Geometry (measures), Probability, Number, Algebra, Statistics.

A series of steps that students should think about when answering an examination question and designed to improve their examination technique in Maths. Not all are used for every question, but I get my students to think about these steps when answering questions. I find it helps them consider the question more deeply, ensures they consider how accurate to round their answer to and to remember the units. It also encourages students to consider QWC statements.
