recording; reporting, transfer of information; pupil progress. KS2-KS3 transition doc (word) and supporting guidance (PDF) I am developing for our local schools. Can be adapted to any KS2 scheme of work, by deleting content listed and replacing with content/vocabulary taught in your school. Designed to let the secondary school know which level on the KS2 Framework has been reached by the children. I have just revised this (March 2014). It meets the needs of the PoS, and progression is mapped to the KS2 Framework.

The PowerPoint displays lyrics & images of a 6-verse song, using key French words and phrases associated with le Tour de France. The PDF gives the meaning of the main words. All ideas can easily be accompanied by physical actions that help children to memorise the song and illustrate the meaning, e.g. 'les spectateurs' can wave a flag as the cyclists ride past; for T é F in Tour de France, I have used letters from British sign Language (BSL). I have taken general images from the internet that are available on multiple sites with no copyright statement, or that have a not-for-profit use.

Includes a simple narrative in English to give the main story structure. I originally wrote this to be published in the CILT Young Pathfinder Let's Join in! (with Cynthia Martin), but this is about to be withdrawn from print.

Qui est-ce? 1 This activity gives children to opportunity to ask and answer a simple question: Qui est-ce? C’est + name. The slides can easily be adapted to include any photos, including photos of the children themselves or of teachers in school. The last slide invites a game of Qui est-ce played by children.
