'Be an African family' role play - Kenya, Uganda

Overall rating 4 out of 54.5 (2 ratings)

Last updated 20 March 2013, created 09 April 2010, viewed 7,235

In this role play exercise, pupils become part of a poor Ugandan (or Kenyan!) family struggling with the challenges of poverty, climate change and disease. They decide as a group how they will make some more money to keep the family together and alive. This activity is a great way of helping pupils More…to understand what difficult decisions poor families have to make and helps them to empathise with their situation. There is an optional element that also shows how much of a difference Send a Cow’s help makes to families like these.
