This activity helps students to develop phonological awareness as they match pictures to the initial sound that they hear. The themes are the Royal Wedding, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 London Olympics. This activity can also be used as a sorting activity and as a discussion starter for More… any of the themes. A re-usable resource if you laminate it and give students mini post-itst o cover their pictures with rather than crossing them off.
