Some decent material but deals purely with the First Day and dismiises the next four and a half months of the campaign in a single sentence. The Powerpoint does not reflect the research done on the battle in the last twenty years which has questioned some of the assertions made here: overloaded troops, all the men walked etc. It does not acknowledge the fact that British tactice evolved during the campaign (creeping barrage, tanks etc) or the active role played by the Germans, not least their obsession with counter-attacking any Allied gain which led to them suffering equally horrendous casualties.
