P6 Radioactive Materials Medical Uses

Students take on the mantle of the expert (oncologist). Using series of clues, students recommend a treatment plan for a patient with an enlarged thyroid. No prior knowledge is required. This task aims to replicate the actual process that teams of experts go through when planning treatment for ca More…ncer and can be used at any stage when studying the use of radioactive sources in medical applications. This task is designed as a group activity, where students are in groups of three, but could easily be adapted to meet other requirements.
