A very good resource, I've used it with several pupils now (I teach one-to-one pupils who need extra help) and all have founs the colouring of like terms helpful. I like the 'ab ba' type as it helps to explain that it doesn't matter which way round you multiply.

Brillliant many thanks, but having 5bc and 5cb goes against mathematical convention and could casue students (particularly low ability problems)

I really like this idea. Think it works great to first identify the 'like terms' by colouring them and then to collect them once coloured; good that there are some that don't match too. Thanks.
