A TESiboard ( http://tesiboard.co.uk ) interactive using co-ordinates, compass points and directional arrows. Pupils use the N, E, S, W arrows to move the boat around the grid, avoiding the islands. An opportunity to introduce simple grid references, asking pupils to move the boat to certain islands More…. Ask pupils to state the co-ordinates of the different beaches, for example. Ask them to give instructions to get there, either using compass points or move to square a2, then a3.... etc
