In this lesson the children use sticks to make pictures; this develops their awareness of shape and space and their counting to 5 as they count how many sticks they use to make each picture.

This is a clever PRNS activity more suitable for reception class for children to show an interest in shape and by playing with sticks making arrangements and finding out that they have made shapes by counting.
