Newspaper article relating to the Diane Pretty case for pupils to read through and then reflect upon - plenty of literacy and also very good example and evidence for longer style questions

Bringing real life experiences into our classrooms is a very important way of making RE more relevant as well as improving the quality of exam results. It reinforces the message that RE is not just about people who practise a certain religion but about life in all its complexity, about real people and the choices that we all have to make in life.

My only concern here is that equally meaningful and relevant material is always provided for both sides of an argument. There are some good euthanasia facts and info on one of my own resources, which explore the way it is actually carried out in The Netherlands and California. There is some horrific stuff going on there!

you are welcome to add some of the files I have there which relate to Euthanasia to your worksheet here. One with a lot of info and statistics that shows how Euthanasia is being mis-used in Europe is Continent Death: Euthanasia in Europe
