A partial script for a Doctor Who based assembly for Year 6 leavers. Apologies to fans - I am not one and trawled the internet ruthlessly to find jargon. If it’s wrong, feel free to correct it! The idea is that the children will learn through their time travelling experience, that the past is not More… really the place they want to go back to, although it was good at the time. The Doctor will teach them that life involves moving on and they will realise they are ready to do so. I plan to continue the script further with the usual ‘happiest memories’, ‘thank you staff’ and ‘things I’m most looking forward to’ along with the usual medley of songs e.g. ‘One More Step Along the World I Go’ and ‘Reach’ Topcis also included: fun/ general knowledge.

Wonderful - I note this was written in 2008, but in my head I could hear Matt Smith performing as the Doctor (sorry, this just turned into a Doctor Who review rather than a resource review!). Our students love drama, and would lap this up :)

Thank You!...This leavers assembly worked a treat. By letting the children brainstorm their own flashbacks and memories, it made it much more personal and special. We purchased a mock Tardis from amazon and used other small props to support.

I first downloaded this resource a few years ago. (I am a Doctor Who fan and it's not that bad!) Liked it a lot and found it very helpful, though yes, I changed it quite a bit. For those of you who've also now done it and are looking for something equally as entertaining and easy to do, I've found that the website has some great leavers assemblies. They've got a new Olympic themed leavers assembly, but my favourite is 'Journey On' leavers assembly. Four rocking songs that the kids loved and a hillarious assembly script (Titled 'Honey I grew down the kid') which really was 'ready-to-use' for once! Only a fiver to download as well. Saved SO much time! Here's the link:
