Fable texts- identifying features of a fable

Overall rating 3 out of 53.8 (24 ratings)

Last updated 07 June 2014, created 17 January 2007, viewed 35,752

Differentiated fable sheets, for children to identify features of fables. For lower ability, version of The Fox and the Crane for children to highlight fable features. For middle ability, The Hare and the Tortoise and The Princess and the Pea for children to decide which is the fable and present More…their argument for their choice. For higher ability, The Lion and the Mouse, The Fox and the Crane and The Princess and the Pea for same activities as MA. Adapted from a lovely Aesop’s Fables book, aimed at Year 5, lower set. In response to the reviewer below, perhaps your Year 3’s would be underwhelmed so you should consider yourself lucky to work in a school with few academic and social problems. Topics also included: narrative texts; familiar setting stories.
