All objects do not fall to earth at same speed--assuming there is no air resistance, they accelerate towards earth at the same rate which is g=9.8 ms^-2. When there is air resistance, g is the same but the resultant force acting on different objects is different depending on their mass, shape and so air resistance (hence overall acceleration is not g) and so speed is not the same.
