This lesson was planned for a 'Maths Day' activity and repeated with 4 year 4 classes. The activity relates to Roald Dahl's Georges Marvellous Medicine. A very wet lesson! The children measure out different quantities of coloured water and mix them together to make different coloured medicines. There is also an extension activity and a smartboard.

This is a great idea for making Maths more practical. I will use it with my year 1 class where they will write number sentences and then use these to measure the amounts using cups. I will keep the water- argh! Then we will experiment items that sink or float in Science. Hopefully the children will enjoy this. Thank you.
