How sound is made (PPT)

Overall rating 4 out of 54.3 (6 ratings)

Last updated 16 March 2014, created 18 January 2012, viewed 14,037

A PowerPoint (PPT) on how Sound is made, ideally aimed at Year 5. Explains about vibration and how a sound travels through the air, plus a few tasks along the way and discussion points. Simple start to the topic if you're unsure how sound is made. Please review/comment so I can amend it to make More…it better in the future. EDIT - SMLeigh is correct, on slide four you will need to discuss the ear drum. My apologies!

What about the ear drum making the tiny bones in the ear vibrate to send a message to the brain? Slide 4 is incorrect.

Last slide - speed of sound should be 343 metres (not miles) per second. Otherwise a very 'sound' resource LOL
