This is a simple information page about dogs that I wrote, with Year 1 pupils in mind. If you scroll down the page and look to the right there is an activity suggested to help pupils to identify four key features of information texts. Could be followed up with pupils making their own information More… books about caring for different animals. I'm only an NQT so sorry if not perfect but is easily adaptable.
