Looks at different types of text and characteristics.Includes examples of text (taken from skillswise examples) and getting students to discuss what they see and how they know it is persuasive, informative, descriptive etc. Comes with a sorting activity worksheet. I gave small groups a variation o More…f texts collected from around the area and asked them to sort them into the different types of text groups. Extension activity/ additional lesson of getting students to create text with different scenarios- see written assignments. Fun and interactive lesson to deliver.

Nice introductory lesson on text types and purpose. Would also be suitable for KS3 and KS4 students. As a teacher, you would need to find a selection of texts for students to analyse. I like the worksheet that the students have to fill in as well. Thank you for sharing this resource.
