A colleague set up a SOW for non-fiction writing where the class is in groups and imagine they are castaways on an uninhabited island. I created the island packs - each one has pictures, a map and sheets of information about the island. I used real uninhabited islands and there is tons of informatio More…n about edible food, climate, dangers, water supply etc. Great fun for active learning with diaries, recounts, newspaper reports, tv reports etc.
