This lesson is designed to develop students’ understanding of NATO. This is particularly relevant as the NATO Summit is due to take place in Wales in September 2014. The lesson provides students with a detailed insight into the history, purpose and modern-day aims of NATO. It also encourages pupils to think critically about the organisation. In so doing, it aims to give students a solid base of knowledge about NATO alongside an analytical understanding of its position in the world today.

The learning objectives alone will take about a third of a lesson to get through! It is very politically biased, so of little historical value. The NATO Alliance being presented as a peacekeeping force is pretty misleading and irresponsible. Would rate lower but anything under 'okay' and I have to fill out a form

Amazingly doesn't give any information on the remarkable success NATO has made of Libya. Once Africa's most wealthy and independent state, now a tribalist quagmire which cannot even drill for its own oil.

Well done Nato! Similar to the stuff from Germany in the 1930s!
