A collection of excerpts from Schemes of Work for Mathematics I wrote for for children with severe learning difficulties. These are aimed at children working roughly within the P Levels P4-P8 range. The SoW aim to provide key learning objectives and starting points for teaching activities for some o More…f the strands in the Mathematics Framework. They may also be suitable for children in the Foundation Stage - although as they were designed specifically for children with severe learning difficulties you may find some of the activities too structured and not play-based or exploratory enough...

Great starting point for our scheme of work. Have you considered addressing the lower P levels as a lead in?

Thanks very much, I am just about to start teaching a very SLD KS3 class in a special school and have been asked to do data handling with them. Your SOW is brilliantly structured and I shall certainly be making use of it.

Fantastic!. Any more for any other lessons? Our school have just made CSA's plan objectives and activities for all lessons as well as state the resources needed for each activity before evaluating and providing photographic evidence. This was suggested and a pro forma given on friday - with all lessons to be planned for before the following Monday - consequently I feel I am running behind so any help!!!!!!
