3D shape (three days).

Children sort 3D shapes into those with curved faces, those with flat faces and those with both. They match 3D shapes to 2D drawings of them. The pyramid is introduced and children count the numbers of faces and corners on 3D shapes, recording the results in a table. Packaging and photographs are used to make a display of 3D shapes, with labels naming and describing them. Children guess mystery 3D shapes according to how they feel, or are described. They make 3D shapes using construction kits including a variety of pyramids.
