Problem solving (five days).

Children read and discuss word problems to decide what needs to be done to the numbers in the problem to solve it. The word problems are single step and all four operations are included. Ordered lists and tables are use to help children to work systematically to solve problems where lots of possibilities need to be found. Children use their knowledge of inverse operations to write ‘magic’ chains where they rightly ‘guess’ an answer.
