Capacity and reading scales for all measures (five days).
Children compare containers with capacities of a litre and then 300ml. They measure capacities to the nearest 100ml and order them. Having had some experience of the litre and millilitres, they decide which capacities might be best measured in litres and which might be best measured in millilitres. Children practise reading scales for length, weight and capacity and then discuss what equipment and units of measure are needed to find various lengths, capacities and weights.
