Capacity and reading scales for all measures (five days).

Children compare capacities with the litre and 300ml, order them and then measure capacities to the nearest 100ml. Having had some experience of the litre and millilitres, they choose likely capacities for given containers. They convert multiples of 100 millimetres into litres and vice versa. Children practise reading scales for length, weight and capacity. They discuss what equipment and units of measure are needed to find various lengths, capacities and weights and make estimates expressed as a range.
