Measures and handling data: metric units and line graphs (five days).

Children convert weights from kilograms (one decimal place) to grams and vice versa, and capacities from litres (one decimal place) to millilitres and vice versa. They read scales including where markers are between unlabelled divisions and order weights and capacities in mixed units. Objects are ordered according the children’s estimates of their weights or capacities before the actual measurements are found using suitable equipment. Children use line graphs to plot multiplication facts, and measures against time, using these to derive other facts.
