Fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion (five days).

Children find groups of equivalent fractions and use this to help to reduce fractions to their simplest forms. They learn to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers. They find several tenths and hundredths of quantities including money and measures. The relationship between tenths, hundredths and percentages is revised, and then children use related facts to find new percentages of amounts of money. The relationship between quantities of ingredients in recipes is discussed, drawing out ratio and proportion. Children then adapt recipes for different numbers of people.
