Mental multiplication and division (five days).

Children sieve out multiples on a 1-100 grid to leave prime numbers. They look for numbers with lots of factors, and find common multiples of single-digit numbers. Tests of divisibility are used to sort numbers. Statements are identified as true or false, and where false children give one example to disprove the statement. Children revise using multiplication facts and place value to find multiples of tenths (written as decimals), and then use this to multiply two-digit numbers with one decimal place by single-digit numbers, using brackets to show their steps. Children multiply two-digit numbers by near multiples of ten by multiplying by the nearest multiple of ten and adjusting.
