Fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion (five days).

Children learn to convert a set of fractions to fractions with the same denominator so that they can be compared. Fractions are entered as divisions into calculators to help children to find equivalent decimals. Children use this experience to predict equivalent decimals to play a game. Children use key percentages, e.g. 50%, 10% and 1% to find different percentages of quantities, and to find reduced prices. They learn to express one quantity as a percentage of another. Given a total number and a ratio between two quantities, children find the number of each quantity and describe each quantity as a proportion of the whole.
