Measuring ourselves and what's around us (five days).

Children learn about measurements of length from the past and find relationships between them. They make informed estimates about large numbers e.g. the number of hairs on their heads and blades of grass on the school field, using sampling. Astrolabes are made and used to measure the heights of trees and buildings. Children measure their heart rates before and after different lengths of time of exercise and construct a line graph to show the results.
