Medieval sources which suggest causes of plague

Overall rating 4 out of 54.3 (3 ratings)

Last updated 27 November 2012, created 23 October 2011, viewed 2,060

I use these nine medieval sources to show how medieval people tried to explain the Black Death. Pupils study the sources and decide how accurate the explanations for the spread of the plague are. Another activity involves roleplay, with groups trying to convince the others that their explanation is the right one.

A useful collection of written sources which could be combined with some picture sources for a source assessment document or used for a market place activity.
