As a class, we discussed what kind of things make it easy to find information in non-fiction books and we put together a list of important things.
I then used their ideas to generate an evaluation grid for the children to compare some of our non-fiction books, based on their own criteria.
There are 2 differentiated grids that can easily be adapted to suit your own class.
