Olympic Mathematical Mysteries

Overall rating 5 out of 55 (14 ratings)

A set of four Olympic themed mysteries. Students are given the set of clues and in groups must work together to solve the problem. I have tried to make these real-to-life so the stats and facts are all accurate. Each of the mysteries focuses on a different skill ranging from speed distance and time More…to surface area. Hopefully these will be ideal for Olympic themed lessons or the end of term. Have a look on my website www.numberloving.co.uk for some Olympic themed top trumps to use as well.

Excellent - wish I'd found this before the Olympics. Never mind, still of use.

A great idea and designed really well. Got my kids talking about what was best way to solve. I want to try and produce some similar ideas for other decisions. (I think the torch cost has a wrong conversion between cm2 and m2.)
