Phi-the golden ratio and the mathematics of beauty

Is there a mathematical basis behind what we find aesthetically pleasing? An exploration of phi - the golden ratio, which looks at the central place it had in Leonardo da Vinci's work. The same ratio can be detected in classic architecture throughout the ages. The connection with Fibonacci's sequenc More…e is then explored, and how this relates to situations in the natural world.
