Pictorial algebra starter

This is a pictorial representation of two equations that have to be solved. One of my groups Yr8, just stared at it and once they saw the solution, they sighed by the simplicity of it. Then, my Yr 7 had a good go and eventually solve them. It’s interesting and can be the introduction to sol More…ving simultaneous equations. It can trigger so much discussion. It doesn’t really matter if the group can’t solve it. But, I’m sure that any group can be led into it and become familiar with that type of problems. Dead simple and a great starter!
