Seaside picnic from the past

Overall rating 5 out of 55 (3 ratings)

Ask pupils to imagine that they are going to the seaside and have to take a picnic. Ask them to think about the type of the food that they would take on their picnic, such as sandwiches, crisps, biscuits, fruit, cans of pop etc. Then use the photograph to prompt a discussion about what the More…people in the photograph might have been eating. Would there picnic be the same as one today? Compare it to a picnic today. You might like to plan your own 1900’s style picnic!

What exciting resources! I can see two picnics being made in the classroom to compare. Many thanks.

Thank you so much for these resources. I would have found the Seaside topic quite tricky without all the brilliant things on your site. Likewise with the minibeasts topic. Now an avid user of TES, I am looking forward to tackling the other topics for the next academic year.
